What’s the change, in Microsoft Surface Pro 2017?
Taken a look at the above table, you could effortlessly infer that both the devices hold pretty much same set of features and specs. But that doesn’t mean that the company has just put up a new name to the same old gadget. Let’s have a look on, what are all the changes done now.
Battery and Processor
Microsoft touts that, the 2017 model delivers charge for up to 13.5 hours of standard usage, which is 50% more than the Surface Pro 4. Well, the new tablet is stuffed with the Intel’s latest seventh generation Kaby Lake Processor. But, the Surface Pro 4 stopped at Intel 6th generation.
Alcantara Skinned Keyboard
It’s rather an expected thing. We were expecting big shift on the keyboard. Here comes the Alcantara Skinned Keyboard. Well, this high-quality clicky keyboard renders a prettier look to the new device, than the Surface Pro 4.
Next-gen Surface Pen
If you’re a creative sketcher, then the new Surface Pro is a perfect choice. Its display supports 4096 pressure points, for the new Surface Pen to effortlessly play on. Further, the new stylus is dramatically fast, with just 21 milliseconds of latency, along with tilt functionality.
Will it be naive to expect the latest Surface Pro at a pocket-friendly price, than its predecessor? Of course, it’ll be. Depending upon the configuration, you will have to pay a massive $799 as a starting price, ranging further to $1599. Whereas the shipment is set to begin on June 15th in UK.
On the whole, at this point, it is tough to predict, which one is the better choice, of the two. The Surface Pro 4 is already one of the competent lightweight laptop/tablets available right now. Will the Surface Pro outrun it? In the design aspects, it is the same as its predecessor, with some upgrades in the battery and hardware aspects.
But budget-wise, the new Surface Pro is not going to the better option. Anyhow, we’re short of some more hands-on review and performance tests, before we could judiciously answer it.
